HI I’m Taylor Stubbs, and I’m running for Mayor of Taylor, Texas because I believe our city can grow without losing what makes it special: neighborly values, opportunity for working families, and a government that respects taxpayers and tells the truth, clearly and consistently.
TRADE & MAJOR PROJECTS

My career has been grounded in the real economy: the jobs that build communities and keep them running. I studied Business Management and Business Administration at Western Governors University, then spent most of my professional life working in the oil field and commercial construction. I’ve been in environments where safety is non negotiable, schedules are unforgiving, and excuses don’t keep projects moving, leadership does.
One of the defining chapters of my career was serving as a Project Manager on the Hanover luxury high rise development in Austin, where I oversaw paint and drywall operations on a contract exceeding $20 million. I managed day to day operations, budgets, safety, payroll, scheduling, quality control, and coordination for roughly 40 to 50 personnel. That work required focus, accountability, and the ability to solve problems fast, without compromising standards, so a complex, multi million dollar project could be delivered on deadline.

A LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS OWNER IN TAYLOR

When that Hanover high rise project concluded in 2024, I came home and launched my own paint and drywall company here in Taylor. Building a company from the ground up has given me a firsthand understanding of what local employers and working families deal with every week: rising costs, regulatory friction, staffing challenges, and the constant pressure of making payroll while still doing quality work.
Small businesses don’t have the luxury of hoping things work out. We have to plan, execute, and own outcomes. This small business owner's mindset is exactly what I want to bring to City Hall: practical decision making, clear priorities, and measurable results.

CHILDHOOD & LIFE EXPERIENCES
​
I am bilingual and spent part of my childhood in Mexico, which gave me a deep appreciation for hard work, opportunity, and personal responsibility. I have also lived all over the United States as a child, including Alaska, Utah, Colorado, Washington state, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, and Arizona, but I have spent most of my life in Texas.
Most of my early life was not lived behind a screen or inside an office. I spent real time on farms, riding horses, herding animals, and helping grow pecans. That kind of work teaches you patience, discipline, and respect for the people who keep a community running. It also shapes how you see leadership. You learn that promises do not matter if you cannot follow through, and that the best results come from consistency, clear communication, and doing the job right the first time.
My experiences, across cultures and in many parts of the country, are a big part of why I care about Taylor so deeply. I believe in a city that honors working people, protects the character of our community, and plans responsibly for the future.

A serious voice on growth: disciplined, transparent, accountable

The City of Taylor is growing, fast. Growth can be a gift if it’s guided well, and a burden if it’s mismanaged. I believe growth must be managed with discipline, transparency, and accountability. This means fiscal responsibility with taxpayer dollars, straightforward communication with residents, and protecting the character of our community while preparing for the future.
My goal is simple: a city government that runs like it should, focused on core services, honest about tradeoffs, and committed to doing the basics exceptionally well.
